Al Sharpton: Keeping Black Voters Angry

You can imagine the justifiable extreme anger and outrage of black America in 1987. Six white men, including police officers and a New York prosecutor, allegedly kidnapped, raped, and smeared feces over the body of a fifteen-year-old black girl. Tawana Brawley was found unconscious and unresponsive, lying in a garbage bag, her clothes torn and burned. In the emergency room, racial slurs and epithets were discovered written on Brawley's torso with charcoal.
Al Sharpton, eager to launch his national career, ran to the microphones and cameras as Tawana Brawley's adviser. The problem was, it was all a hoax.
Fearful of getting into trouble for staying away from home for four days, Brawley made up the whole horrific racial-hate-inspiring story. After hearing the evidence, or lack thereof, a grand jury concluded that Brawley was lying.
The New York prosecutor whom Brawley accused of being one of her rapists sued Brawley and Sharpton for defamation and won. And yet, Sharpton still says the Brawley incident happened.
The Tawana Brawley hoax confirms that truth and fair play are irrelevant in Sharpton's continuing quest to stir the pot of racial hate to bludgeon white America and instill anger in black America for political gain. How sickening.
I remember Anthony Quinn as Barabbas in the biblical movie Barabbas. Barabbas was a criminal sentenced to death. For Passover, the governor could commute the death sentence of a prisoner selected by popular demand. The multitude could save the life of Jesus or Barabbas. They yelled, "Give us Barabbas!" Barabbas was freed. Jesus was crucified.
Arrogantly usurping authority to speak on behalf of black America, the left has yelled, Give us Al Sharpton! Why have MSNBC, the mainstream media, and President Obama honored this despicable man spokesperson for black America? There are numerous honorable blacks in the national arena.
Sharpton was selected by the left as black America's mouthpiece because his political agenda is in solidarity with their hate-America Progressive movement. They are committed to government controlling our behavior and every aspect of life in America. Loyalty to their cause trumps race and even the faith of those who claim to be Christians. How else can you explain Sharpton demanding the removal of a billboard in the black community which exposed the genocide of blacks via abortion?
Rev. Al Sharpton has turned his back on the Bible's anti-abortion teachings while supporting Planned Parenthood's founder's vow to exterminate blacks -- in loyalty to the left's progressive agenda!
The left appointing Sharpton a spokesperson for black America is a perfect example of their moral bankruptcy and willingness to shake hands with the devil if it would further their agenda. Sharpton still stands behind Tawana Brawley's absurd, over-the-top lie that six white men, including police and a New York prosecutor, raped her. In a decent world, Sharpton would be disqualified for the role of national spokesperson of anything. And yet, the left has crowned Sharpton chief of black America.
As an American who happens to be black, I am outraged. The left's selection of Sharpton as our spokesperson confirms their low opinion of black America, of our sense of morality, honor, and decency. The left (Democrats, mainstream media, and Obama) continue to tell black America, by their actions, how little they think of us. They ignore or demonize highly successful, articulate, America-loving black conservatives while elevating lying, America-hating race-baiters.
In 2010, President Obama asked Sharpton to be Obama's ambassador to the black community. Obama instructed Sharpton to tell black leaders to chill out and stop saying his economic policy failed to help black communities hit hard by the downturn.
The foundation of Democrat politics is dealing with Americans as monolithic voting blocs. I take offense to Obama acting as if black America were a huge tribe, taking marching orders from Chief Sharpton. I am an American who happens to be black. I think for myself.
Obama and his buddies on the left promote "groupthink." Their tactic for winning elections is to divide Americans into groups or voting blocs. Then they convince each group -- women, minorities, gays, the poor, etc. -- that they are being victimized by evil Republicans. Vote for us, and we'll keep the evil Republicans at bay!
Case in point: the Democrats' latest lie claims that Republicans have launched a "War on Women." The truth is that Obama, against the Constitution, is trying to force churches and taxpayers to fund abortion against their religious faith. America said, H-- no! Democrats are trying to spin America's rebuke of Obama's overreach of authority by saying Republicans wish to ban contraception. This is a lie. Republicans do not wish to ban birth control in any way.
Note the tried-and-true Democrat trick. They lie to rally women by claiming that Republicans hate them. Then Democrats say vote for us to protect you.
Sharpton's function is to lie to blacks, to keep them fired up hating Republicans, the rich, conservatives, and the Tea Party. The left says "conservative" is code for racist whites. Such rhetoric promotes racial hatred.
A prolific liar, Sharpton attempts to rally black America -- Republicans are hogging it all and dissing the first black president. Keep in mind that Sharpton still claims that six white men kidnapped, raped, and smeared feces over the body of a fifteen-year-old black girl.

Hillary's and Bernie's Friend: Al Sharpton Called for Murder of 'Crackers' and 'Pigs'
Al Sharpton's National Action Network (NAN), the same racist and anti-Semitic hate group that played a central role in the 1995 arson of Freddy's Fashion Mart, enjoys touting its association with key figures in the Democratic Party. Here is the NAN's press release from 2008, emphasis mine:
Over 3000 delegates from across the country attended National Action Network's 9th annual convention from April 18-21 as well as five of the major Democratic presidential candidates—Senator (s) Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, John Edwards, Joe Biden, Governor Bill Richardson, and Congressman Denis Kucinich … and other political leaders including Congressman Charlie Rangel, New York Governor Eliot Spitzer, Reverend Jesse Jackson, New York State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli and many more were all on hand as Reverend Sharpton's organization hosted the event at the Sheraton New York Hotel & Towers.
The press release includes endorsements of Sharpton by the current and prospective Democratic occupants of the White House:
Senator Hillary Clinton (NY): "I have enjoyed a long and positive relationship with Reverend Al Sharpton and National Action Network, and I don't ever remember saying "no" to them and I intend to remain their partner in civil rights as I clean the dirt from under the carpet in the oval office when I am elected President"
Senator Barack Obama (Ill): "Reverend Sharpton is a voice for the voiceless, and a voice for the dispossessed. What National Action Network has done is so important to change America, and it must be changed from the bottom up."
The National Action Network certainly changed Harlem by encouraging a deranged individual to burn a Jewish-owned store while yelling racist and anti-Semitic epithets such as "bloodsucking Jews," "don't give the Jew bastard a dime," "burn the Jew store down," "cracker lover," "make that white cracker suffer," and "white interloper," the last one from Sharpton personally. Perhaps deadly racist violence is part of what Barack Obama calls hope and change, and his promotion of Black Lives Matter ("Pigs in a blanket, fry 'em like bacon") reinforces this perception, but I digress.
Sharpton Called Explicitly for the Murder of "Pigs" and "Crackers"
The same National Action Network press release adds, "Join Us As We Protest Sexism, Racism And Homophobia In Music," which is quite a statement from an individual who describes gay people as "Greek homos" and "punk faggots." Another video has recently surfaced in which Al Sharpton incites his audience at Kean University to kill police officers and Caucasians, and "police officers" and "Caucasians" are not the words he uses.
I don't believe in marching! I believe in offing the pigs! Well, they got pigs out here! You ain't offed one of them!
I'll off the man. Well, off him! Plenty of crackers walking around here tonight!
The context of the latter statement appears to be Sharpton's contempt for people in his audience who expressed a desire to kill white people but could not work up enough nerve to do it.
To put this in perspective, even the repugnant Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke never has gone so far as to encourage the murder of black people. "Duke also reformed the organization, promoting nonviolence and legality[.] … Duke told The Daily Telegraph he left the Klan in 1980 because he disliked its associations with violence and could not stop the members of other Klan chapters from doing 'stupid or violent things.'" Sharpton, in contrast to Duke, has been involved in at least two incidents of fatal racist and anti-Semitic violence: the Crown Heights riots and the arson of Freddy's Fashion Mart. Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders are therefore promoting, legitimizing, and mainstreaming a worse hate-monger than David Duke.
We must also recall Sharpton's central role in the Tawana Brawley scandal, after which he was found guilty of defamation. "The jury found Sharpton liable for making seven defamatory statements about Pagones, Maddox for two and Mason for one." Sharpton's associates Alton Maddox and Vernon Mason also had disciplinary action taken against their licenses to practice law. Let us also recall Sharpton's role in the Duke Lacrosse scandal, which rightly cost Mike Nifong his license to practice law.
Sharpton has also referred to Jews as "diamond merchants," and he defended his remarks ("What racist stuff?") about a "white interloper" by saying it referred to only one Jew. He is also on record as referring to Chinese-Americans as "Chinamen."
Hillary and Bernie Don't Want White, Jewish, Asian, Gay, or Police Votes
The fact that Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders are openly courting, legitimizing, and mainstreaming this hate-monger shows quite clearly that they do not want the vote of any "cracker," "bloodsucking Jew," "white interloper," "diamond merchant," "Chinaman," "Greek homo," "punk faggot," or "pig." They do not even want the vote of any middle-class black person who is outraged by the implication that somebody like Sharpton can deliver his or her vote – that is, the implication that he or she is the African-American counterpart of the kind of white trash whose votes David Duke can deliver.
It might, in fact, be instructive to edit a Clinton or Sanders ad to alternate between the candidate's statements and Sharpton's "I believe in offing the pigs," "Greek homos," "plenty of crackers walking around here tonight," and "punk faggots." Photos of Clinton or Sanders side by side with Sharpton must be included to ensure that white people, LGBT people, Jews, law enforcement officers, Asians, and self-respecting African-Americans know what the Democratic candidates really think of them. If we want to appreciate the potential destructive power of such a modified ad, we need look only to this gem from 1965. Even though the Democrats aired it only once, it was sufficient to hand the White House to Lyndon B. Johnson.
In the meantime, every reader can do his or her part to deny the November election to whichever candidate the Democrats nominate. Colonel Paul Linebarger warned in Psychological Warfare that bundles of leaflets that fail to disperse make little impression on the Propaganda Man (the person we seek to persuade) unless they land on his head. Information that stays at American Thinker will similarly do little harm to the Obama wing of the Democratic Party because nobody here is going to vote for Clinton or Sanders anyway.
Call Clinton and Sanders out for their association with a prominent racist, anti-Semite, cop hater, and homophobe at every opportunity in letters to the editor, social media, and talk radio.

Al Sharpton and Sheila Jackson Lee Translate Racial Code
This whole "Differ with Barack Obama and You're a Racist" thing is getting old. Take for example Texas Democrat congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee. Sheila has already made it known that disagreeing with the first black president instantly makes you a racist. Besides being at odds with Barack, more recently Jackson Lee has also declared racist any mention -- by a white candidate, that is -- of blue-collar work or, for that matter, any-color food stamps.
Thankfully, food stamps no longer come in a multicolored booklet that Sheila can scrutinize for racial undertones. Even so, according to the congresswoman, Newt Gingrich daring to mention the words "food stamps" was inappropriate code whose intent was merely to "generate and signify race."
Now, Sheila Jackson Lee's official racially offended male counterpart, Reverend Al Sharpton, has decided that, if it seems rude and involves Obama and a Republican, it should immediately be exposed for what it is -- racial antagonism.
The latest Republican to be installed in the Racist Hall of Shame is Governor Jan Brewer of Arizona. After meeting and greeting President Obama on the tarmac of Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport and despite being sued by his administration, Governor Brewer invited him to have lunch and join her for a tour of the border.
Barack Obama, hypersensitive narcissist that he is, decided to disregard Brewer's gracious welcome and instead chose to immediately address what he felt was the governor's negative depiction of him as "patronizing" in her book Scorpions for Breakfast. Referring to the confrontation, Brewer said that she "felt a bit threatened, if you will, in the attitude that he had."
Exercising the type of feminist muscle liberals usually applaud, pint-sized Jan refused to be intimidated by Obama's confrontational demeanor and fought back. Thus, the newest addition to the "That's Racist" laundry list: white governor refusing to be pushed around by black president. And while pointing and wagging your finger in the face of anyone, let alone the president of the United States, is never a good idea, Sharpton's assertion that Brewer's spirited response to Obama's rebuke was racist is a bit over the top.
Based on the incident, Al Sharpton also flagged as racist such mildly critical terms as "thin-skinned" and feeling "a bit threatened." Sirius XM radio host Joe Madison, who appeared on Reverend Sharpton's MSNBC show Politics Nation, contributed the following to the indictment: "unacceptable" and "disrespectful" finger-pointing, refusing to apologize, asking to see a president's college grades, and referring to President Obama by just his last name.
Speaking directly into the camera, Al Sharpton passionately addressed Jan Brewer directly, saying, "Thin-skinned? You felt threatened? What does that mean, you felt threatened? By the president of the United States? This is yet another example of disrespect and delegitimatizing this president." Hilary O. Shelton, senior vice president for advocacy and policy at the NAACP, concurred and posed a question of his own to Brewer: "What were you afraid he would do, steal your purse?"
So, according to Al Sharpton, henceforth, if you're a petite Caucasian woman being reprimanded by a tall, imposing black president, and you're intimidated and overreact, you're a racist.
And that's not all. Al Sharpton also feels that Jan Brewer giving a handwritten letter to the president that said "I'd love an opportunity to share with you how we've been able to turn Arizona around with hard choices that turned out to be the right ones" was sort of like mentioning "food stamps" and could also be considered racist code.
Sharpton contends that Brewer's lunch/border invite was just a devious attempt to demean Barack Obama's intelligence by implying that he needed to be "lectured" and could "learn at her knee." Thus, Al's logic seems to conclude that the Arizona governor secretly believes that, because the president is black, he's slow on the uptake and has a lot to learn.
The Right Reverend Al, who everyone knows is an expert at distinguishing truth from fiction, exposed Jan Brewer's disingenuous nature in the following way:
So, Governor Brewer, when were you telling the truth? When you just walked out of the meeting and told the press in front of the White House, with a smile on your face, how it was cordial and how the tone was very good, positive -- or when you wrote a book saying it was condescending, and he was lecturing you?
Does anyone beside me remember a girl in large, green, plastic trash bag smeared with feces and a torso sporting upside-down racial slurs?
Respectfully pontificating about the Barack-Brewer brouhaha, Joe Madison also conveyed to Sharpton that the president was wise to walk away from a "fool." Moreover, Madison also said he believes that people like Newt, Jan, and Joe "You Lie" Wilson are merely those "who cannot stand the fact that this is an African-American who is now one of the most powerful individuals on the planet. And there are those who cannot consciously and subconsciously handle it."
Accusing a person of subconscious racism is almost as absurd as Sheila Jackson Lee sniffing out prejudice in cola-tinted Pepsi commercials and hurricanes that insist on being identified by names she thinks are too white.
Nevertheless, Governor Jan Brewer probably should have kept her composure during the encounter and perhaps described the incident in a way that did not include the word "threatened" -- a loaded word which could be easily misconstrued. Yet one has to wonder if it would have even mattered to Sharpton and company -- because regardless of the circumstances, every time a conservative opens his/her mouth, derogatory racial code is all they seem to hear.
Thus, I'm sure Sheila Jackson Lee would agree with Reverend Al when he says, "They brought race in. They put a race deck on the table. If you pull a card, it's a race card because they set the deck." No, it's Sharpton who put the race deck on the table, because in Al's world, it's all racist -- the cards, the deck, and the table.

Al Sharpton goes there: Calls NFL players 'slaves'
For sheer entertainment value, Al Sharpton's invocation of slavery in discussing NFL players who average $1.9 million a year is worth noting. It also confirms his stature as America's premier malevolent demagogue. (You can savor the buffoonery in a video over at Weasel Zippers, as I am unable to embed it here.)
Sharpton is unlikely ever to top Crown Heights, where he instigated a pogrom, or Freddy's Fashion Mart, where his target of opprobrium was firebombed, killing eight in bloodiness. But the older and wealthier and more established (MSNBC host) Sharpton works on a different angle now.
Underneath this cynical exploitation of white guilt, Sharpton is hoping to inflame conflict.
Fans already angry at the kneeling can only derisively laugh at the millionaires, and not a few of them will decide they are done with accepting any responsibility at all for something they have nothing to do with.
The NFL owners already are in retreat on the standing policy, alienating their fans even more. They are going to continue to underplay the damage they are doing to their business.
Face it: Sharpton is trolling us. Fans and owners alike. Driving conflict. There are a lot of people who want to see Americans angry at each other. That's something on which Vladimir Putin and Alinskyites agree.

Al Sharpton’s ‘charity’ paid him over a million dollars last year
We taxpayers are underwriting Al Sharpton’s million-dollar pay for ostensibly charitable work with tax deduction subsidies for donors to his National Action Network. The Trump economy evidently has been very, very good for Sharpton, whose “charitable” work yielded an average pay of $283,543 from 2007 through 2016.
Melissa Klein and Georgett Roberts of the New York Post report:
The Rev. Al Sharpton raked in $1,046,948 from his own charity last year, according to National Action Network’s latest tax filings obtained by The Post.
Sharpton got a $324,000 salary — 32% higher than his 2017 pay — in addition to a $159,596 bonus and $563,352 in “other compensation.”
The Harlem-based nonprofit — which Sharpton controls as president and CEO — said the extra cash was to make up for the years from 2004 to 2017 when he didn’t get his full pay.
NAN said it hired an executive compensation firm that determined the good reverend was owed $1.252 million — but he was generously willing to take $500,000 less.
Sharpton and the nonprofit’s board also agreed “he has now been fully compensated for all the years he was underpaid and received no bonus,” the NAN statement said.
Sharpton’s income now places him into the upper reaches of the top one percent. And this is juts from his charitable work, not including his income from MSNBC, nor, presumably, speaking fees and other income that has not been laundered through NAN.
Sharpton is shameless:
The holy man’s mammon really raised eyebrows last year when NAN’s filing revealed he had sold the rights to his life story to his own charity for $531,000. The organization contended the purchase would provide a revenue stream because it could turn around and sell the rights.
NAN at the time said an unnamed “executive committee independently approved” the deal, leading one expert to question how the independence was achieved.
“In this case, it’s really difficult because of his role in the organization and just because of his overall influence,” Linda Sugin, a Fordham University Law School professor and associate dean said at the time.
Sharpton said Saturday that NAN did sell the rights for a documentary that filmed the night of his 65th birthday gala at the New York Public Library, an event hosted by Samuel L. Jackson and Spike Lee. But he said he hadn’t received any cash yet.
Sharpton, despite his huge cash haul, hasn’t yet paid off his outstanding tax liens:
Sharpton has been paying down millions in his own personal federal and state tax liens. In June, he finally paid off his personal tax debt to the state, which last year stood at $95,031.21. He still owes $698,470.99 in back taxes for three of his companies, according to the state Tax Department.

Al Sharpton's corporate shakedown operation

Which is more disgusting? Companies paying Al Sharpton so that he won't call them racists, or Sharpton himself who has developed a routine corporate shakedown operation - the most professional among all the racialists making a buck off their outrage?
Want to influence a casino bid? Polish your corporate image? Not be labeled a racist?
Then you need to pay Al Sharpton.
For more than a decade, corporations have shelled out thousands of dollars in donations and consulting fees to Sharpton’s National Action Network. What they get in return is the reverend’s supposed sway in the black community or, more often, his silence.
Sony Pictures co-chair Amy Pascal met with the activist preacher after leaked e-mails showed her making racially charged comments about President Obama. Pascal was under siege after a suspected North Korean cyber attack pressured the studio to cancel its release of “The Interview,” which depicts the assassination of dictator Kim Jong-un.
Pascal and her team were said to be “shaking in their boots” and “afraid of the Rev,” The Post reported.
No payments to NAN have been announced, but Sharpton and Pascal agreed to form a “working group” to focus on racial bias in Hollywood.
Sharpton notably did not publicly assert his support for Pascal after the meeting — what observers say seems like a typical Sharpton “shakedown” in the making. Pay him in cash or power, critics say, and you buy his support or silence.
“Al Sharpton has enriched himself and NAN for years by threatening companies with bad publicity if they didn’t come to terms with him. Put simply, Sharpton specializes in shakedowns,” said Ken Boehm, chairman of the National Legal & Policy Center, a Virginia-based watchdog group that has produced a book on Sharpton.
The Pascal incident is small potatoes. Sharpton's shakedown operation has taken in an astonishing amount of money over the years:
In 2008, Plainfield Asset Management, a Greenwich, Conn.-based hedge fund, made a $500,000 contribution to New York nonprofit Education Reform Now. That money was immediately funneled to the National Action Network.
The donation raised eyebrows. Although the money was ostensibly to support NAN’s efforts to bring “educational equality,” it also came at a time that Plainfield was trying to get a lucrative gambling deal in New York.
Plainfield had a $250 million stake in Capital Play, a group trying to secure a license to run the coming racino at Aqueduct Racetrack in Queens. Capital Play employed a lobbyist named Charlie King, who also was the acting executive director of NAN.
Sharpton has said that most of the Plainfield contribution went to pay King’s salary.
King’s company, the Movement Group, was paid $243,586 by NAN in 2008, tax records show.
Harold Levy, a former New York City schools chancellor who was a managing director at Plainfield at the time, has denied the contribution was made to curry favor with Sharpton or anyone else. But a year later, as the battle for the racino license heated up, NAN raked in another $100,000 from representatives of the AEG consortium, which was the successor company to Capital Play.
Sharpton's front group, the National Action Network, has been under investigation several times for, among other things, failing to pay payroll taxes and messy, shady bookeeping. It's apparent that Sharpton uses the charity to funnel cash into his and his crony's pockets.
Sharpton has a knack for skirting the law but not going too far over the line when he does transgress. Besides, in New York, he is virtually untouchable and at the federal level - well, Eric Holder and his successor are not lining up to investigate his dealings.
