Dan Sullivan
Daniel Scott "Dan" Sullivan is the junior Unites States Senator from Alaska. He is a member of the Republican Party, and was elected in November 2014. He serves on the Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee, the Armed Services Committee, the Environment and Public Works Committee, and the Veterans' Affairs Committee. Sullivan generally (see below) holds a conservative voting record in contrast to his RINO colleague Lisa Murkowski. Contents[hide] Military serviceWhile on active duty in the United States Marine Corps, Sullivan served on many commands as well as staff billets.[1] Part of the Marine Corps Reserve since 1997, he has been recalled to active duty once in 2004 and another time in 2013. U.S. SenateSullivan was elected to the U.S. Senate in 2014 during a red wave year, defeating then-incumbent Mark Begich by just over 3% of the vote.[2] TenureObama eraSullivan co-sponsored a bill to approve the Keystone XL in January 6, 2015,[3] a measure ultimately vetoed by Barack Obama. Sen. Sullivan voted against the Bipartisan Budget Act of 2015, which extended the debt limit.[4] Donald Trump's 2016 presidential campaignWhile initially more supportive of Donald Trump's 2016 presidential campaign, he withdrew his endorsement over Trump's private remarks that were said over 10 years prior to his 2016 campaign.[5] Trump eraSullivan voted in favor of the Stop Illegal Reentry Act in July 2016, which sought to increase maximum prison term sentences for illegal aliens who re-enter the U.S. after already being denied access or deported.[6] Despite support from three Democrats, the bill was filibustered by most of the Senate Democrats, preventing cloture from being enacted. Sullivan voted for the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act in December 2017.[7] Senator Sullivan in favor of the Bipartisan Budget Act of 2018.[8] In late August 2018, Sullivan voted in favor of Rand Paul's amendment to deny federal funding for all entities that perform or promote abortions.[9] The bill ultimately did not pass a simple majority, as despite three Democrats not voting, four Republicans didn't vote either, two RINOs voted against their party line, in addition to the fact that the GOP only held a bare 51-49 Senate majority then.[10] Sullivan voted against the FIRST Step Act, which passed despite opposition by a small group of Senate Republicans and was later signed by President Trump.[11] Sullivan co-sponsored the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act in January 2019.[12] Sen. Sullivan voted in favor of the Bipartisan Budget Act of 2019 in August 2019.[13] Sullivan voted in January 2020 to implement the USMCA.[14] Sullivan voted in favor of the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act and the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, two pro-life measures that ultimately did not pass due to being filibustered by pro-late-term abortion and pro-infanticide Democrats.[15][16] Impeachment coup
In 2019, Sullivan joined RINOs in refusing to sign a resolution Lindsey Graham introduced to condemn the impeachment coup against Trump.[17] Sullivan voted to acquit Donald Trump on both articles of the impeachment coup d'état.[18] H-1B visasIn late May 2020 amidst the CCP pandemic where millions of Americans were unemployed, Sullivan showed his liberal/globalist views on immigration when he joined eight Republican senators in signing a letter calling for President Trump to sustain H-1B, H-2A, and H-2B visa programs that allow foreign workers to take American jobs.[19] Conservative pundit Tucker Carlson, among economic nationalists who were furious over the letter, called for for ousting of the nine senators in the nearest-upcoming Republican primaries.[20] Political viewsA strong conservative, Sullivan opposes abortion, same-sex "marriage", amnesty, and ObamaCare.[21] References
