Hypocrite Congressman Jamie Raskin Claims Trump Used Government as an “Instrument for Self Enrichment”
Democrat Congressman Jamie Raskin made the outrageous and fictitious claim that Donald Trump used the government for his own self enrichment during an appearance on ABC’s “This Week” with Anchor Jonathan Karl.
Karl asked Raskin his thoughts on allegations that Biden family received bribes from foreign countries.
“You know, we’ve seen — we saw Donald – you know, we saw Joe Biden at one point say that Hunter Biden had no dealings, got no money from China. We now see from hunter’s own words that that’s not true. Does – are – does any of this raise concerns for you, you know, the money from Ukraine, the money from China, the money from Russia?”
Raskin replied:
“Here’s what I’m concerned about. During the Trump administration, we saw the development of a completely new public philosophy, which is that government is not an instrument of the common good in the public interest. Government is an instrument for private self-enrichment, for the guy who gets in, for his family, for his private businesses. And that’s a model that we’re seeing all over the world now.”
This claim is clearly and demonstrably false. Donald Trump, unlike most politicians, LOST money as a result of serving in office. As reported by NBC,

“The presidency has been bad for Donald Trump’s finances, with his personal net worth falling from $4.5 billion to $3.1 billion over the past two years, according to the latest Forbes billionaires list.

Donald Trump willingly chose to reject his presidential salary which would have totaled $1,600,000 by the end of his term. If Trump wanted to become President simply to get rich, he sure did a bad job at it. Jamie Raskin on the other hand has not rejected his congressional salary of $174,000.
Raskin, like many other members of congress, has accumulated tremendous wealth while “serving” in elected office. In fact, according to estimates Raskin is a multimillionaire worth over $4,000,000. How is it that someone who is making $174,000 a year manages to get that kind of wealth?
When comparing the careers of Trump and Raskin, it is clear who used their office to get rich. It is unwise to throw stones when you live in a glass house. This is a clear example of the pot calling the kettle black.
If Raskin actually cared about politicians using their office to get rich, he would speak up about the Biden crime family allegedly receiving millions of dollars in bribes from foreign interests.
If it weren’t for double standards, these democrats would have no standards at all. They are so caught up in their Trump derangement syndrome that they have lost their grasp on reality.
The corporate media and the Democrats’ worst nightmare came true after Speaker Kevin McCarthy gave Tucker Carlson 41,000 hours of unreleased J6 footage.
The January 6th commission led by Democrats and two despicable RINOs (Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger) solely focused on vengeance against President Trump and trying to ensure he went to jail. Revealing the unvarnished truth would have detracted from these efforts.
Carlson, who correctly pointed out the Commission’s obfuscation of the truth months ago, said this to Axios after obtaining the footage:
“There was never any legitimate reason for this footage to remain secret. If there was ever a question that’s in the public’s interest to know, it’s what actually happened on January 6. By definition, this video will reveal it.”
The truth to Democrats is like sunlight to vampires. They are trembling in terror over their possible political destruction after this footage is released.

Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) is screaming that releasing the footage is “MAGA propaganda” and falsely calls Tucker a “pro-Putin” journalist.
Here is far-left Rep. Ritchie Torres (D-NY) complaining that handing off the J6 footage to Tucker is “as insane as appointing Marjorie Taylor Greene to the Homeland Security Committee.” Both moves, of course, are excellent.
Kinzinger whined that McCarthy should have shared this footage with Congress and compromised “investigators” instead. Of course, the J6 commission had access to this surveillance to begin with but chose to bury it.

The Biden family received a million dollars from China in a deal with a Chinese oil company. The Democrats lied and claimed this was all about Papa Johns but it was much more than that.
Yesterday, the House Oversight Committee reported that it had received the bank accounts that show that over $1 million was almost immediately paid to the Biden family in 2017 after a friend of the Biden’s received $3 million from a Chinese oil company.
The Democrats were not happy that the GOP members on the Oversight Committee requested the bank records.
Ranking Member Jamie Raskin mischaracterized the substance of the bank records by referencing payments related to Mr. Walker’s miscellaneous purchases such as “Papa John’s” and “coffee at Starbucks[.]” Rep. Raskin omitted material facts that Robinson Walker, LLC received a $3 million wire from a Chinese company in March 2017—less than two months after Vice President Joe Biden left public office—and that Mr. Walker then transferred over a million dollars to various bank accounts associated with the Bidens in the following months.

Raskin claimed he had no idea who Ray Epps was during the unconstitutional and dishonest Jan 6 production in the House which refused to release thousands of hours of video from the Capitol on Jan 6 while ignoring the piles of evidence on the stolen 2020 Election that led to the protests in the first place.
Raskin also lied and claimed 7 people lost their lives on Jan 6. The only people who died that day were Trump supporters – four innocent victims.
On Thursday, Raskin did the ultimate gaslight when he said the following:
“Can you think of a more egregious example of weaponizing the DOJ for nakedly political purposes than imprisoning and putting in solitary confinement [political opponents]?”
This is exactly what Raskin has done. This dishonest man sleeps while committing innocent men and women to prison because they believed the 2020 Election was stolen.
This is communist stuff by Raskin – totally disgusting.

Democrat Rep. Jamie Raskin is a piece of work. He has no problem making statements that are untrue and others that omit material facts. For him, it’s all for the party, to hell with the law and the country.
This weekend Raskin was again interviewed on the Fake News media CNN and he made statements about the Biden classified document crimes that were uncovered last weekend making Biden’s crimes seem like a walk in the park.
Raskin was on with Jake Tapper as they discussed Biden’s acts that were criminal in holding classified documents in his garage that he stole when he was Vice President.
In order to make his case he needed to lie and lie he did.
Raskin first claimed that this all happened quickly as the Biden team was very helpful in notifying the corrupt DOJ of these documents. This is simply not true. Biden held these documents since he was Vice President under the corrupt Obama regime. Biden had no lawful reason to hold the documents. They were stolen. This occurred at least six years ago and has been ongoing since that time. This is clearly not quickly addressed.
To justify his false statements, Raskin decided to lie about President Trump. Raskin does this all the time.
Raskin shared that the government investigators had to get a subpoena to get documents from President Trump that Trump fought over for over a year.
This is a lie. President Trump provided the FBI access to the documents that he legally took with him from his first term. The President allowed the FBI to look at these documents and allowed them on his property to do so. The corrupt FBI stole documents from President Trump after obtaining a subpoena from a pre-selected corrupt judge and not telling the Trump team about their actions.
President Trump had every right to every document he took with him from the White House. This is the President’s right per the law. Biden had no right to take documents from the Obama White House because he was Vice President.
The FBI illegally raided the President’s home – something unprecedented in history. This raid was unnecessary, unprecedented, and unlawful.

Raskin then claimed that Biden only held a government document that should no longer be in his possession. This too is a lie. The documents (plural) held by Biden were stolen when he left office in 2017 and he never had any right to hold them in the first place.
Raskin then jumped on his dead horse and claimed that President Trump was involved in “inciting a violent insurrection against the government”. This too is a lie. There is no evidence to support this.
There is more evidence that Raskin and his corrupt pals in the House created a bogus unconstitutional committee as part of a coverup of an election coup to steal the election from President Trump.

100 Percent Fed Up reports – On October 21, 2021, Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) showed an interesting video today while questioning Attorney General Merrick Garland. The video included a montage of clips showing an alleged “Trump supporter” inciting people on January 5 and again on January 6th to breach the Capitol.
Massie addressed the curious video of Ray Epps with AG Garland, “As far as we can determine, the individual who was saying he’ll ‘probably go to jail’ and he’ll ‘probably be arrested,’ but he wants everyone—-they need everyone to go into the Capitol the next day, is then the next day seen directing people into the Capitol. But as far as we can tell, this individual has not been charged with anything. You said this was one of the most sweeping investigations in history.” Massie asked Garland, “So, have you seen this video or those frames from the video?”
Garland refused to comment on the video, claiming immunity because the incident is currently under investigation.
“Ok, I was hoping today to give you the opportunity to put to rest the concerns that people have that there were federal agents or assets of the federal government present on January 5th or January 6th,” Massie said, asking, “Can you tell us without talking about particular incidents or particular videos how many agents or assets of the federal government were present on January 6th, whether they agitated to go into the Capitol and if any of them did?”
“So, I’m not gonna violate this norm of the rule of law. I’m not gonna comment on an investigation that’s ongoing,” the uncomfortable AG replied.

The article shares several videos of the MAGA hat man who called for Trump supporters to join him on January 6th to “go inside the Capitol.” All but one of the accounts that posted the videos have been removed from YouTube, Instagram, and dLive TV.
Here’s a closer look at the Jan 5 video showing the MAGA hat-wearing man on January 5th encouraging Trump supporters to go inside the Capitol building on Jan 6. Epps is cautious with his words. He appears to be encouraging Trump supporters standing around him to ignore the consequences of their actions, saying he may “get arrested,” but he doesn’t care. During their fake conversation, Epps shouts, “We need to go into the Capitol” on January 6th. The guy with the camera (potentially another federal agent?) shouts, “Let’s go!” as he turns to the unidentified person conveniently filming their conversation and smiles.

On Jan 11, 2022, during a US Senate Judiciary Committee hearing, Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) exposed how the FBI is potentially covering for Ray Epps when he asked FBI National Security Branch Executive Assistant Director Jill Sanborn whether or not FBI agents or confidential informants played a role in the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol incident that Democrats and their allies in the media have labeled an “insurrection” and “domestic terror attack.”
“Did any FBI agents or confidential informants actively participate in the events of January 6th? Yes or no?” Sen. Cruz asked.
FBI’s Jill Sanborn: “I can’t answer that.”
Senator Cruz began to ask more direct questions about Ray Epps, a man who was seen on Jan 5 encouraging Trump supporters to go inside the Capitol on Jan. 6. Mr. Epps was also seen in several cases encouraging Trump supporters to breach the Capitol throughout the day.
Cruz asked Jill Sanborn a direct question about Ray Epps: “Ms. Sanborn, was Ray Epps a fed?”
Ms. Sanborn replied: “Sir, I cannot answer that question.”
“Ms. Sanborn, a lot of Americans are concerned that the Federal Government deliberately encouraged illegal and violent conduct on January 6th. My question to you—and this is not an ordinary law enforcement question—this is a question about public accountability—Did federal agents, or those in service of federal agents, actively encourage violent and criminal conduct on January 6th?” Cruz said.
“Not to my knowledge,” a defiant Sandborn responded.

Raskin is telling Republicans to leave him alone because “he’s one of you.” Meanwhile, the Jan 6 Witch Hunt Committee has now set their sites on Ginni Thomas, wife of US Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, because she dared to openly support President Trump.
Ginni Thomas has already publicly stated that she attended the January 6 rally at the Ellipse in Washington DC but never walked to the Capitol and was nowhere near the Capitol during the incident. Like hundreds of thousands of people who were unprepared for the unusually frigid temperatures on January 6, Ginni Thomas left the rally immediately after Trump’s speech because she was too cold to stay.
Instead of focusing on the crooked mail-in-voting process and how it provided the perfect opportunity for Democrats to steal the election, the media instead chooses to focus on the 200 people who entered the Capitol on Jan. 6. By using grossly exaggerated claims, they’ve managed to tie innocent conservative leaders and activists who were nowhere near the Capitol to the poor decisions made by a tiny percentage of protesters as a way to clear the deck of conservative influencers like Ginni Thomas before the 2022 election.
On January 7, 2021, Mark Joseph Stern, a staff writer for the left-wing rag “Slate,” believed he hit pay dirt when he found and took screenshots of two Facebook posts that allegedly appeared on Ginni’s Facebook page.
The first Facebook post allegedly from Ginni’s personal page said she would be watching the “MAGA crowd” in DC that came to support Trump. She also said she would be “watching to see what Congress does starting at 1 PM.”
For the record, Ginni wasn’t the only one waiting to see what Congress would do at 1 PM. Much of the nation was glued to their television sets on January 6, 2021.
In her second alleged Facebook post, Ginni said, “LOVE MAGA people”!!!! In another post, Ginni allegedly wrote, “GOD BLESS EACH OF YOU, STANDING UP or PRAYING!”

Stern’s “gotcha” tweet was followed up by another false accusation about how she “funded” the “insurrection” by paying for “80 busses” that were sent to DC on January 6th from various places.
It is possible that Thomas supported the Save America March on January 6, 2021, from which many attendees journeyed to the Capitol, but there is no proof that Thomas was involved in the funding of 80 buses to the Capitol, nor is there evidence to suggest that she is an organizer of January 6.
The only evidence we have to suggest that Thomas may have “funded 80 buses for the protest” is a now-deleted January 2021 tweet from conservative activist Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA (TPUSA), and its sister organization, Turning Point Action, which describes itself as “accelerating freedom through conservative action.”
Kirk’s original tweet claimed that Students for Trump and Turning Point Action were “sending 80+ buses full of patriots to DC to fight for this president.”
This left-wing activist [falsely] accuses Ginni of “paying for buses to carry white men and women to our capitol so that they could carry out an insurrectionist meant to disenfranchise the vote of black men and women.”
Thomas, a conservative lobbyist and zealous supporter of Donald Trump, has fervently defended the president over the last four years. On her Facebook page, she frequently promotes baseless conspiracy theories about a “coup” against Trump led by Jewish philanthropist George Soros, a frequent target of anti-Semitic hate. Thomas draws many of these theories from fringe corners of the internet, including an anti-vax Facebook group that claimed Bill Gates would use the COVID vaccine to kill people. In recent months, she also amplified unsubstantiated corruption claims against Joe Biden while insisting, falsely, that the Obama administration illegally spied on Trump’s 2016 campaign, then tried to rig the election against him.
The truth is, as long as her husband continues to be the most conservative member of the United States Supreme Court, Ginni is going to be a target of the Left. But don’t worry about Ginni Thomas—her ability to ignore the haters and remain focused on the things that matter most have allowed her to survive America’s Swamp for decades.

Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) railed against Republicans as he “commemorated” the January 6 “insurrection” at a vigil hosted by Antifa radicals on Thursday night, claiming the GOP stands with “the most authoritarian, fascistic elements of the whole country.”
Most Americans are now Democrats because the Republican Party supports the most “authoritarian” elements of America, the Maryland congressman lamented in an angry tirade.
“I greet the American majority on this evening on Jan. 6, 2022. Never forget that Hillary Clinton beat [Trump] by 3 million votes and Joe Biden beat him by 7 and a half million votes. The new Americans are on our side,” he told the crowd. “[Republicans] are a shrinking minority party standing with the most authoritarian, fascistic elements of the whole country.”
Raskin praised the two Republicans who serve on Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s January 6 House Select Committee for helping Democrats “defeat fascism.”
Reps. Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger are “constitutional patriots” who are “standing up for democracy,” he said. “You go back and you look at the history of coups and fascism on earth, progressives and liberals can never defeat fascism on their own, it is always progressives and liberals at the center-right that come together to defend democracy and we are going to do it again. We are the majority. I admit they have a lot of control over levers of anti-democratic power in America.”
The Maryland Democrat lauded police for fighting “hordes of fascist mobs” on January 6 and claimed conservatives only back the blue when law enforcement officials assault black people.
“Where are all those phony defenders of law enforcement who only rear their ugly heads when some racist cop beats up an African American citizen? We don’t hear from them about January 6, do we? We stand with the cops like we stand with the firefighters, like we stand with the teachers, like we stand with all public employees, the servants of the people,” he said.
The event was hosted by more than 100 progressive organizations including Shut Down DC, a group that has repeatedly protested at the homes Republicans members of Congress Sens. Josh Hawley, Rand Paul and Lindsey Graham.

Rep. Jamie Raskin is a nasty Democrat Representative in the US House. He and his family have been involved in shady actions and now have been caught in some more.
Raskin’s father was college professor Marcus Raskin who was indicted for conspiracy to resist the Vietnam war effort.
…he was indicted for conspiracy to obstruct the Vietnam War effort by encouraging young men to resist the draft. He coauthored a call to resist illegitimate authority and stood trial along with doctor Benjamin Spock and others who advocated the burning of draft cards, break-ins at draft boards and other unlawful actions to obstruct the war effort. Many young people did what was advocated and were punished for their unlawful acts.
It appears that Rep. Raskin and his wife are following in his liberal father’s footsteps. Business Insider is reporting that the Raskins didn’t report financial transactions according to the law.
Democratic Rep. Jamie Raskin of Maryland violated a federal conflict-of-interest law by failing to properly disclose stock shares his wife received for advising a Colorado-based financial technology trust company.
The congressman likewise disclosed information about the sale of Reserve Trust stock eight months after Sarah Bloom Raskin dumped the stock in late 2020 for $1.5 million, an Insider analysis of federal records indicates.
This violation of the Stop Trading on Congressional Knowledge Act‘s disclosure provisions, which exist to promote transparency and defend against financial conflicts, comes at a time of significant national attention for the Raskins.
Jamie Raskin, who acknowledged he was late filing the portion of the disclosure about the sale and said it happened because of his son’s death, is a prominent congressman who led the second impeachment trial of former President Donald Trump. Sarah Bloom Raskin is President Joe Biden’s nominee to fill the position of the government’s most powerful banking regulator and faced a key Senate panel on Thursday.
Raskin uses his son’s untimely death as his reason for breaking the law. Democrats really have no shame. His wife is being pushed by Joe Biden to join the Fed, clearly a conflict of interest. How could Ms. Raskin ever be objective and independent in actions involving the US economy with her spouse pushing far-left America destroying policies in Congress?

If confirmed, Sarah Bloom Raskin would become vice chairwoman of supervision at the Federal Reserve, after having held top-level jobs at the US Treasury and the Fed during the Obama administration.
Yet she faces an uncertain confirmation path among Republicans and conservative Democrats in a narrowly divided Senate given that she has called for harsher financial regulations aimed at combating the climate crisis and supports tougher oversight on big banks.
The omission from congressional reports of the shares she held in Reserve Trust is likely to hand another round of ammunition to Republicans, who want to stall Biden’s nominees. At least one conservative watchdog group is already questioning whether she used her past Fed connections to help the fintech trust, and Sen. Cynthia Lummis, a Republican of Wyoming, brought it up during Thursday’s hearing.
Now Raskin is using an anti-free speech argument to claim President Trump should never have said anything about the stolen 2020 Election, especially on January 6th. But free speech is what saved Raskin’s father from indictment years ago. An individual who speaks highly of the Raskins writes:
Unsurprisingly, the defense was that the First Amendment protected Marcus’ advocacy of resistance to the draft, even if such resistance then took a form of unlawful actions by others.
Now, Marcus’ son Jamie is quoting his father in a speech that would cut the heart out the very First Amendment that twice saved his father. If Jamie Raskin’s current view of the First Amendment had prevailed back in the day, his father would likely have been convicted of two felonies. If President Trump incited his followers to commit unlawful conduct, so did Marcus. I believe that neither incited violence and that both were protected by the First Amendment.

And they lied.
The video deceptively edited President Trump’s words to his million supporters at the Ellipse by the White House.

Raskin played a deceptively edited video of Trump purposely omitted the part where Trump specifically told his supporters to “peacefully and patriotically make their voices heard.”
Then at the end of the video Raskin and Democrats claimed “seven people lost their lives” by their experiences that day.

The Washington DC Police identified the four Americans killed during the chaos at the US Capitol:
Ashli Babbit, 35-years-old, Huntington, Maryland
Benjamin Phillips, 50-years-old, Ringtown, Pennsylvania
Kevin Greeson, 55-years-old, Athens, Alabama
Roseanne Boylan, 34-years-old, Kennesaw, Georgia.
Police Officer Brian Sicknick died after the rioting likely from blood clot and stroke.
Two other Capitol Police officers committed suicide later that month. To blame their suicides on the Capitol riots is completely outrageous and disingenuous.

We all wondered why the names of so many Obama Treasury Department officials appeared on the list of those who requested unmaskings of Gen. Michael Flynn’s telephone calls. The requests all came on December 14, 2016 and were made by then-Treasury Secretary Jacob Lew (Lew made a second request on January 12, 2017), then-Acting Assistant Secretary of the Treasury Arthur “Danny” McGlynn, then-Acting Assistant Deputy Secretary Mike Neufeld, then-Deputy Secretary Sarah Raskin, then-Under Secretary Nathan Sheets and then Acting Under Secretary Adam Szubin.
(Note: Sarah Raskin is married to anti-Trumper Rep. Jamin B. “Jamie” Raskin (D.-Md.), who served as one of the House Managers in the Senate impeachment trial.)
Not only that, but Ms. Raskin, was appointed by Obama as a Governor of the Federal Reserve Board and then as the Deputy Secretary of the Treasury. In that position she unmasked General Flynn which clearly had nothing to do with her position but shows her corrupt actions while in Obama’s Treasury Department.
Raskin isn’t the only individual whose wife is a member of the Deep State. Rod Rosenstei’s wife, Lisa Barsoomian, represented Bill Clinton in a case in the 1990’s. This alone should have been enough for Rosenstein to be unqualified for any role related to the Clintons, Obama or their cronies. But he set up the corrupt Mueller investigation in an effort to have President Trump removed from office.
We know that the wife of VP Pence’s former Chief of Staff Joshua Pitcock, was working for Peter Strzok in the FBI. We know that Peter Strzok’s wife was furious when she discovered that Strzok was having an affair with Lisa Page and that she threatened to blow it all up. We also know Strzok’s wife, Meliisa Hodgman, was a Hillary supporter who wiped her Facebook page clean when Strzok was suddenly reportedly removed from the Mueller gang. Bruce Ohr from the DOJ had wife Nellie, who was involved in the Steele dossier and worked for Fusion GPS.

Democrats today moved their two articles of impeachment — and non-crimes — to the House Rules Committee on Tuesday for a very boring hearing on process for tomorrow’s vote where Democrats have already confirmed they have enough votes to impeach President Trump on a party line vote.
On Tuesday the best video of the day was the woman sitting behind Democrat Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) who was leading the House Rules Committee earlier today.
The woman — like a MAJORITY of Americans — just wasn’t buying what Raskin was selling.

The corporate media and the Democrats’ worst nightmare came true after Speaker Kevin McCarthy gave Tucker Carlson 41,000 hours of unreleased J6 footage.
The January 6th commission led by Democrats and two despicable RINOs (Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger) solely focused on vengeance against President Trump and trying to ensure he went to jail. Revealing the unvarnished truth would have detracted from these efforts.

Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) is screaming that releasing the footage is “MAGA propaganda” and falsely calls Tucker a “pro-Putin” journalist.
Here is far-left Rep. Ritchie Torres (D-NY) complaining that handing off the J6 footage to Tucker is “as insane as appointing Marjorie Taylor Greene to the Homeland Security Committee.” Both moves, of course, are excellent.
Kinzinger whined that McCarthy should have shared this footage with Congress and compromised “investigators” instead. Of course, the J6 commission had access to this surveillance to begin with but chose to bury it.

In an interview with Katy Tur, Raskin his bill is “not a body devoted to looking at Donald Trump’s fitness for office.”
When Tur followed up about his desire to impeach the president, Raskin tried to lie his way out of it.
“Here’s the thing, congressman. You want to impeach this president. You’ve said so,” Tur said.
Seemingly flustered over being called out by his own side’s media, Raskin denied her claim. “No, I haven’t—when did I say that?” he asked.
“You’ve said you wanted to impeach the president,” Tur stated matter-of-factly. She then went on to read his own comment about his desire to impeach. “I want to say this for Donald Trump, who I may well be voting to impeach over the next year or two,” she quoted him saying at a rally in January 2017, noting that the statement drew applause from the crowd.
“You definitely don’t want him as president,” she said.
Raskin, still seemingly flustered, dodged the question and responded that “I think the media is conflating impeachment and the 25th Amendment.” He then began to ramble off facts about the 25th Amendment and that it is meant to address a president who lacks the mental or physical capacity required for office.
“They’re two separate things,” he said following his lies and dodging.
Since Raskin doesn’t seem capable of keeping his own comments straight, perhaps there should be a commission on his own mental fitness for office.
Democrat members of Congress are plotting with a group of psychiatrists led by Dr. Bandy X. Lee to conduct a medical coup to remove President Donald Trump from office, according to interviews given this week by Lee.
Lee, who claims Trump’s presidency could be “the end of humankind”, has already decided Trump should be removed from office. A ‘go team’ of medical professionals is being assembled to swoop in and forcibly remove Trump to evaluate his fitness for office, according to Lee.

Lee, a Yale University psychiatry professor, has been waging a Maoist style campaign for the past year to get Trump removed from office for alleged psychiatric reasons. As part of her campaign, Lee released a collection of essays in book form last October titled, “THE DANGEROUS CASE OF DONALD TRUMP; 27 Psychiatrists and Mental Health Experts Assess a President”

…His madness is catching, too. From the trauma people have experienced under the Trump administration to the cult-like characteristics of his followers, he has created unprecedented mental health consequences across our nation and beyond.

Politico reported on Wednesday that Lee (along with NYU’s Dr. James Gilligan), met with House and Senate Democrats in Congress last month (and one Republican senator in an impromptu setting according to the Weekly Standard.)
In private meetings with more than a dozen members of Congress held on Dec. 5 and 6, Lee briefed lawmakers — all Democrats except for one Republican senator, whom Lee declined to identify. Her professional warning to Capitol Hill: “He’s going to unravel, and we are seeing the signs.”
In an interview, she pointed to Trump “going back to conspiracy theories, denying things he has admitted before, his being drawn to violent videos.” Lee also warned, “We feel that the rush of tweeting is an indication of his falling apart under stress. Trump is going to get worse and will become uncontainable with the pressures of the presidency.”
Lee, editor of “The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump,” which includes testimonials from 27 psychiatrists and mental health experts assessing the president’s level of “dangerousness,” said that she was surprised by the interest in her findings during her two days in Washington. “One senator said that it was the meeting he most looked forward to in 11 years,” Lee recalled. “Their level of concern about the president’s dangerousness was surprisingly high.”
The Weekly Standard reported on Lee’s “meeting” with a Republican senator.
…With the exception of 12 Senate offices which we didn’t hear back from in time, every Republican office flatly denied meeting with Lee.
There’s a reason for that.
In an on-the-record phone call with TWS Saturday afternoon, Lee admitted her “meeting” with a Republican senator was not actually scheduled and that it was, in her own words, “accidental.”
“The meeting happened—it wasn’t arranged in advance,” she said. “It was accidental. It was incidental, I will say. It was incidental.”
…Whatever the circumstances of the encounter, when TWS asked whether the nameless Republican senator was sympathetic to her view of Trump’s mental health, Lee was quick to admit they were not.
“No,” she answered. “I mean, they engaged us, but that’s about it.”
Pushed for further details about the identity of the GOP senator, Lee said she had been “trying to keep it confidential, because it’s a sensitive issue,” and added that she did not reveal to Politico—even off the record—who the Republican senator was…”
Lee also spoke to the New York Daily News about the meetings. Lee claimed Trump’s presidency could bring about the end of humankind.
…Lee gave a presentation on why Trump posed a “public health risk” to the group of Democrats — and one lone Republican — during the private meetings that lasted more than 16 hours during the course of two days, Politico first reported.
“From a medical perspective, when we see someone unraveling like this, it’s an emergency,” Lee said. “We’ve never come so close in my career to this level of catastrophic violence that could be the end of humankind.”
…The response from the lawmakers, Lee said, was overwhelming. “What astonished us was how enthusiastic they were to speak with us,” she said.
The politicians questioned Trump’s fitness to serve from a legal perspective, according to Lee, who added, “Their main concern was getting Republicans on board.”
“What they were saying is that Republicans were also concerned [about Trump’s mental health] — possibly equally concerned, but as to whether they would act, that was a different question,” she said…”
Politico reported on a statement Lee and her two Ivy League comrades, Harvard’s Judith Herman and Columbia’s Robert Jay Lifton, released Wednesday, and on additional meetings Lee will be having with Congressional Democrats.
On Wednesday, Lee and two other medical professionals released a statement following Trump’s late night Tweet baiting Kim Jung Un into a potential nuclear war. “We write as mental health professionals who have been deeply concerned about Donald Trump’s psychological aberrations,” the statement read.
“We believe that he is now further unraveling in ways that contribute to his belligerent nuclear threats. … We urge that those around him, and our elected representatives in general, take urgent steps to restrain his behavior and head off the potential nuclear catastrophe that endangers not only Korea and the United States but all of humankind.” The statement, released on behalf of the National Coalition of Concerned Mental Health Experts, was signed by more than 100 medical professionals.
…Later this month, she has been invited to speak in front of another group of lawmakers, hosted by Connecticut Democratic Rep. Rosa DeLauro at her home. And she has been invited to speak at a town hall by Maryland Democratic Rep. Jamie Raskin, who has proposed a bill to set up a commission to evaluate the president’s fitness for office…”
In December, NBC News published an opinion article by Lee in which she inadvertently makes clear her opposition to Trump is based on her political bias.
As has been made clear by his actions repeatedly, our current president believes that he is special: he is free to obstruct justice when deems it necessary, he can lie without consequences, he does not need to worry about potential consequences. But medicine is an equalizer, and the president may find soon that he cannot outrun his own condition.”
Lee told CNN this week she is seeing things in Trump the average person isn’t able to see. Lee also denied having a political bias.
The meeting between Lee and members of Congress was set up through a former US Attorney with ties to Capitol Hill who approached Lee at the request of a “number of lawmakers,” she said. Lee provided them a briefing based on her book on the subject. Dr. James Gilligan — another psychiatrist — an expert on studying and predicting violence, also made a presentation.
“Mr. Trump is showing signs of impairment that the average person could not see,” Lee said. “He is becoming very unstable very quickly. There is a need for neuropsychiatric evaluation that would demonstrate his capacity to serve.”
…Lee rejected claims that her research is any way politically motivated.
“I am uninterested in partisan politics, I have never registered for a political party,” she said. “Ideology doesn’t interest me.”
Lee did a lengthy interview with Vox that was published Saturday in which she spoke about the growing effort to forcibly remove Trump from office and her concerns that would look like a coup and provoke a violent insurrection. Lee also spoke about the “moral and professional authority” of her co-conspirators.(Note: The interview should be read in its entirety.)
…On the other hand, in the book we have as authors Phil Zimbardo, Judith Herman, and Robert Jay Lifton, who are notable not only for their contributions to mental health but for their amazing ethical record. These are living legends who have also stood on the right side of history, even when it was difficult, and they stand as beacons for me. No one matches their moral and professional authority, in my mind.

Okay, so you’re calling for an evaluation; you’re serious about that. How could he possibly be evaluated, since it seems like he wouldn’t voluntarily do it?Bandy Lee
We encounter this often in mental health. Those who most require an evaluation are the least likely to submit to one. That is the reason why in all 50 states we have not only the legal authority, but often the legal obligation, to contain someone even against their will when it’s an emergency.So in an emergency, neither consent nor confidentiality requirements hold. Safety comes first. What we do in the case of danger is we contain the person, we remove them from access to weapons, and we do an urgent evaluation.
This is what we have been calling for with the president based on basic medical standards of care.
Surprisingly, many lawyer groups have actually volunteered, on their own, to file for a court paper to ensure that the security staff will cooperate with us. But we have declined, since this will really look like a coup, and while we are trying to prevent violence, we don’t wish to incite it through, say, an insurrection.
…That was when a former assistant US attorney stepped in and used her contacts to arrange for meetings with a dozen key Congress members [including Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD)] on December 5 and 6. James Gilligan of NYU, one of the foremost experts on violence in the country, and I went and spoke to them about medical matters only, to share our medical knowledge and concern.

They received us enthusiastically! Their level of concern was surprisingly high. From the dozen we have met with, it seemed they were already convinced of the dangerousness of the president and the need for an evaluation.Another thing that has been happening on the side is that a clinic at Yale Law School recommended that we be ready to respond emergently, within an hour or two of being called. So we have been doing both: A DC-based psychiatrist has been collecting names of colleagues would be willing to respond in an emergency, and members of the National Academy of Medicine have been recruited for helping us to select candidates for an independent expert panel.
This month, I will be meeting with additional lawmakers to discuss what else we need to do. I have also been put in touch with the original drafters of the 25th Amendment at Fordham Law School, and so we’ll see if they will give input.
Now, the president is undergoing a physical exam on January 12. The usual physical exam does not usually entail a thorough exam of mental fitness for duty, but we are hoping that some form of capacity exam will be included…

This is the troubling question. We have seen how everything can be turned political, even a strictly rule-bound criminal investigation by an independent special counsel! When we met with some of the lawmakers, it was before the tax reform bill, and it was apparent that there were Republican Congress members who were equally concerned about danger. But then we saw the overwhelming support of the president for their own political goals — even Sen. Bob Corker, who had publicly expressed concerns about World War III!While we were on Capitol Hill, Democratic Congress members were telling us that Democrats would have no trouble acting on their concerns, but the question was, would Republicans? In other words, the concern was pervasive, but the question was whether they would find it politically feasible to express their concern.
Well, if the concern is World War III and political ends trump those concerns, then the chances of our not being politicized are very slim. What we need to do is to remove the danger as quickly as possible. We are used to this in psychiatry, and the law allows us to curtail liberties in this way because patients later return to thank us.
But this is very hard to explain to anyone outside the field who [is] not used to dealing with disorder of this kind. The bind is that the longer we wait, the harder it will be, and the destructiveness will only increase.”
