John Katko
John Michael Katko (born November 9, 1962 (age 59)) is an attorney currently serving as the U.S. representative from New York's 24th congressional district. A liberal Republican, he was elected during the 2014 Midterms, defeating incumbent Democrat Dan Maffei by a large margin in a Democrat-leaning district. Katko has been considered a RINO for his votes in favor of the homosexual agenda and against a GOP health care bill,[1] among several liberal stances. Katko bragged that he helped write the billion-dollar infrastructure bill supported by Biden in 2021, which became law and arguably has increased inflationary pressures.[2] On Jan. 14, 2022, he announced amid a primary challenge that he would not seek reelection, despite being only 59 years old. Katko opposed Donald Trump during the 2016 U.S. presidential election,[3] saying then that Trump will "never" earn his vote.[4] While he endorsed the president's 2020 re-election bid, he has referred to Trump as a "knucklehead".[5] Contents[hide] U.S. House of Representatives2014 electionKatko ran for and won election to the United States House of Representatives in the 2014 Midterms, defeating then-incumbent Democrat representative Dan Maffei by a twenty-point margin.[6] 114th CongressKatko voted against an amendment sponsored by movement conservative then-representative Marsha Blackburn to a DHS-related bill that would effectively defund executive amnesty for illegal aliens ordered via Barack Hussein Obama, joining 25 other House Republicans in doing so.[7] 2016 electionKatko won re-election in 2016 with 61% of the vote by a large margin,[8] though the district was also narrowly carried by Hillary Rodham Clinton in the concurrent presidential election by four percentage points.[9] His campaign received the backing of RINO Paul Ryan.[10] 115th CongressAlong with fourteen other moderate Republicans, Katko signed a discharge petition to grant amnesty for around 3 million DACA illegal aliens.[11] 2018 electionKatko won re-election in the 2018 Midterms by five points over Democrat challenger Dana Balter.[12] 116th CongressKatko co-sponsored[13][14] and voted in favor of the Equality Act.[15] If passed, the bill would allow effectively destroy women's sports by allowing male athletes to participate in them if they identify as "female". Having globalist leanings, Katko voted in favor of amnesty for over a million illegal aliens.[16] He previously voted to grant "temporary" amnesty and immediately open the floodgates to one million Venezuelans,[17] and alongside thirteen other House Republicans with Democrats in favor of ending President Trump's national emergency over the southern border wall.[18] Katko has also joined lobbyists for business interests in urging Trump to favor visas for foreign workers over Americans.[19][20] Amidst the impeachment coup, Katko voted against a Republican-led resolution to condemn Adam Schiff.[21] However, he opposed[22] and voted against the sham articles of impeachment.[23] Rep. Katko voted in favor of the implementation of the USMCA to replace NAFTA.[24] He voted for the Great American Outdoors Act, bipartisan legislation to ensure permanent federal funds for the Land and Water Conservation Fund.[25] Katko joined a large Back the Blue rally in Macedon, New York in mid-August 2020 to support police officers amidst far-left riots and calls to defund the police.[26] Katko voted for a time-wasting "bipartisan" resolution introduced by child sex defender Tom Malinowski and RINO Denver Riggleman to condemn QAnon.[27] Alongside 71 other House Republicans and all Democrats, Katko voted in favor of removing Civil War-era statues.[28] 2020 election
Katko ran for re-election in 2020, and faced Balter in a rematch. The race was expected to be close, though he appeared to be favored for re-election, with his RINO record likely to boost crossover appeal. Despite fake polling, Katko won the general election by a ten-point margin to serve in the 117th Congress.[29] While barely managing to win Onondaga County by a very narrow margin, he performed comparably better in the other areas of the district. 117th CongressFollowing his re-election, Katko was selected by his party in early December 2020 to be the Ranking Member of the House Committee on Homeland Security for the 117th United States Congress, picked over conservative colleague Scott Perry for the position by a narrow closed-door vote.[30] Katko supported Trump's second Impeachment and voted for the partisan hack investigation.[31] Katko voted in favor of the Farm Amnesty Bill.[32] Far-left death threats
Katko was reportedly threatened with murder in late November 2017 by unhinged liberal Patrick Angelo such that he doesn't support net neutrality; Angelo was subsequently arrested and charged with threatening a federal official.[33] A woman from Baldwinsville was arrested and charged in September 2020 for threatening on a phone call to kill Katko.[34] See also
