BREAKING: Crazy Radical Sarah Bloom Raskin Withdraws Her Nomination to Top Federal Post

by

Sarah Bloom Raskin withdrew her name as Biden’s pick for a top banking regulator on Tuesday. This was after Joe Manchin announced he would not support her for the position.

Sarah Bloom Raskin is the wife of Democrat Jamie Raskin.

Raskin was one of the famous unmaskers of General Flynn.

And the Raskins violated the law regarding stock trades — then blamed it on their deceased son.

“Unselect Committee” Member Raskin and Wife Violated Law Regarding Stock Trades – Blame It on Their Deceased Son

by

The Raskins have been in politics and controversy for a long time.  Now the Democrat family is caught hiding stock transactions which is against the law.  Their excuse is sickening.

Rep. Jamie Raskin is a nasty Democrat Representative in the US House.  He and his family have been involved in shady actions and now have been caught in some more.

Raskin’s father was college professor Marcus Raskin who was indicted for conspiracy to resist the Vietnam war effort.

…he was indicted for conspiracy to obstruct the Vietnam War effort by encouraging young men to resist the draft. He coauthored a call to resist illegitimate authority and stood trial along with doctor Benjamin Spock and others who advocated the burning of draft cards, break-ins at draft boards and other unlawful actions to obstruct the war effort. Many young people did what was advocated and were punished for their unlawful acts.

It appears that Rep. Raskin and his wife are following in his liberal father’s footsteps.  Business Insider is reporting that the Raskins didn’t report financial transactions according to the law.

Democratic Rep. Jamie Raskin of Maryland violated a federal conflict-of-interest law by failing to properly disclose stock shares his wife received for advising a Colorado-based financial technology trust company.

The congressman likewise disclosed information about the sale of Reserve Trust stock eight months after Sarah Bloom Raskin dumped the stock in late 2020 for $1.5 million, an Insider analysis of federal records indicates.

This violation of the Stop Trading on Congressional Knowledge Act‘s disclosure provisions, which exist to promote transparency and defend against financial conflicts, comes at a time of significant national attention for the Raskins.

Jamie Raskin, who acknowledged he was late filing the portion of the disclosure about the sale and said it happened because of his son’s death, is a prominent congressman who led the second impeachment trial of former President Donald Trump. Sarah Bloom Raskin is President Joe Biden’s nominee to fill the position of the government’s most powerful banking regulator and faced a key Senate panel on Thursday.

Raskin uses his son’s untimely death as his reason for breaking the law.  Democrats really have no shame.  His wife is being pushed by Joe Biden to join the Fed, clearly a conflict of interest.  How could Ms. Raskin ever be objective and independent in actions involving the US economy with her spouse pushing far-left America destroying policies in Congress?

Business Insider reports:

If confirmed, Sarah Bloom Raskin would become vice chairwoman of supervision at the Federal Reserve, after having held top-level jobs at the US Treasury and the Fed during the Obama administration.

Yet she faces an uncertain confirmation path among Republicans and conservative Democrats in a narrowly divided Senate given that she has called for harsher financial regulations aimed at combating the climate crisis and supports tougher oversight on big banks.

The omission from congressional reports of the shares she held in Reserve Trust is likely to hand another round of ammunition to Republicans, who want to stall Biden’s nominees. At least one conservative watchdog group is already questioning whether she used her past Fed connections to help the fintech trust, and Sen. Cynthia Lummis, a Republican of Wyoming, brought it up during Thursday’s hearing.

Now Raskin is using an anti-free speech argument to claim President Trump should never have said anything about the stolen 2020 Election, especially on January 6th.  But free speech is what saved Raskin’s father from indictment years ago.  An individual who speaks highly of the Raskins writes:

Unsurprisingly, the defense was that the First Amendment protected Marcus’ advocacy of resistance to the draft, even if such resistance then took a form of unlawful actions by others.

Now, Marcus’ son Jamie is quoting his father in a speech that would cut the heart out the very First Amendment that twice saved his father. If Jamie Raskin’s current view of the First Amendment had prevailed back in the day, his father would likely have been convicted of two felonies. If President Trump incited his followers to commit unlawful conduct, so did Marcus. I believe that neither incited violence and that both were protected by the First Amendment.

There is no shame with Democrats and the Raskins are the latest example.

One of the Unmaskers of General Flynn from Obama’s Treasury Department Is the Wife of Dem Rep Raskin Who Presented Unconstitutional Impeachment to the Senate

by

How many times have we seen that the wife of a politician or a crooked Deep State operative is in a position of influence.  Now we know that Rep. Jamin Raskin, who participated in the unconstitutional and corrupt Schiff impeachment presentation to the Senate, has a wife who unmasked General Flynn.

Redstate reported:

We all wondered why the names of so many Obama Treasury Department officials appeared on the list of those who requested unmaskings of Gen. Michael Flynn’s telephone calls. The requests all came on December 14, 2016 and were made by then-Treasury Secretary Jacob Lew (Lew made a second request on January 12, 2017), then-Acting Assistant Secretary of the Treasury Arthur “Danny” McGlynn, then-Acting Assistant Deputy Secretary Mike Neufeld, then-Deputy Secretary Sarah Raskin, then-Under Secretary Nathan Sheets and then Acting Under Secretary Adam Szubin.

(Note: Sarah Raskin is married to anti-Trumper Rep. Jamin B. “Jamie” Raskin (D.-Md.), who served as one of the House Managers in the Senate impeachment trial.)

Not only that, but Ms. Raskin, was appointed by Obama as a Governor of the Federal Reserve Board and then as the Deputy Secretary of the Treasury.  In that position she unmasked General Flynn which clearly had nothing to do with her position but shows her corrupt actions while in Obama’s Treasury Department.

Raskin isn’t the only individual whose wife is a member of the Deep State.   Rod Rosenstei’s wife, Lisa Barsoomian, represented Bill Clinton in a case in the 1990’s.  This alone should have been enough for Rosenstein to be unqualified for any role related to the Clintons, Obama or their cronies.  But he set up the corrupt Mueller investigation in an effort to have President Trump removed from office.

We know that the wife of VP Pence’s former Chief of Staff Joshua Pitcock, was working for Peter Strzok in the FBI.  We know that Peter Strzok’s wife was furious when she discovered that Strzok was having an affair with Lisa Page and that she threatened to blow it all up.  We also know Strzok’s wife, Meliisa Hodgman, was a Hillary supporter who wiped her Facebook page clean when Strzok was suddenly reportedly removed from the Mueller gang.  Bruce Ohr from the DOJ had wife Nellie, who was involved in the Steele dossier and worked for Fusion GPS.

Who in DC is not connected to crooked politicians or corrupt Deep State actors?

GOP Senators Question Qualifications of ‘Woke’ Fed Reserve Nominee, Promptly Get Accused of Racism

Sen. Elizabeth Warren characterized attacks on Joe Biden’s nomination of Lisa Cook as “racist, sexist and just plain dumb.”

Last month, President Biden announced three Federal Reserve nominees – Sarah Bloom Raskin, who is already on the Board of Governors but who Biden wants serving as Vice Chair for Supervision, as well as Lisa Cook and Philip Jefferson, both of whom he nominated to serve on the Board of Governors.

Republican Senators have expressed concerns about all three of them, but their criticisms of Cook are getting a lot of attention from the Usual Suspects on the left and in the media because she’s the first black woman nominated to serve on the Fed Reserve Board of Governors. And as we’ve already seen from Joe Biden’s statement confirming he would nominate a black woman, any questions raised about Cook’s qualifications are being painted as “racism.”

Last week, the Senate Banking Housing and Urban Affairs Committee held a nomination hearing for the three of them. They all faced tough questions, but the line of questioning from some of the Republicans on the committee towards Cook had to do with her “woke” stances and whether or not she embellished her credentials, issues that were highlighted by an investigative report done by The Daily Caller just days after Biden nominated Cook:

Cook claims that she is a macroeconomist, but a review of her published work does not show any peer-reviewed macroeconomic publications.

[…]

“In her extensive writing for academic journals and think tank essays listed under ‘publications,’ you will find essentially nothing related to monetary policy, monetary effects on employment, interest rates, inflation, financial regulation or other traditional Fed topics,” wrote Hoover Institution economist John Cochrane in a blog post. “Lisa Cook is superbly qualified — if the job is to bring the Administration and progressive supporters’ racial policies to the Fed. That might mean requiring DEI or ESG practices at banks, or to companies that banks lend to, directing credit to some areas or by race, and strengthening the DEI initiatives and race based hiring and promotion practices within the Fed.”

Cook’s CV lists a publication in the American Economic Review (AER), the top peer-reviewed economics journal in the world. The publication, “Metals or Management? Explaining Africa’s Recent Economic Growth Performance,” would be her single greatest academic accomplishment. However, the paper was actually published in AER Papers and Proceedings (AER P&P), a separate publication that is not peer-reviewed.

[…]

The vast majority of Cook’s writing focuses on the effects of racial bias and discrimination. An Axios article stated that “Cook’s academic writing suggests she is a dove,” but a list of her written works does not include titles concerning central banking, financial industry supervision, inflation or monetary policy.

Also, a report published by the Free Beacon indicates that Cook may have made up a story about how she allegedly “led an effort in the 1980s to hold school officials at her alma mater captive until they voted to divest from South Africa.”

Cook, a Berkeley graduate, also appears to be a proponent of cancel culture and getting people fired from their jobs for disagreeing with her:

Lisa Cooks nomination hearing was today. She accused me of “spreading hate” in 2020 and wanted my speech restricted, see screen shot. Why? Was she referring to my tweet back then, where I took the position that defunding the police is absurd. Care to clarify, Lisa Cook? pic.twitter.com/emqhNnXiCv

Cook, an economics professor at Michigan State University who was also a senior economist on President Obama’s Council of Economic Advisers for about a year, has expressed support for reparations and defunding the police, radical positions her Republican critics have characterized as part of a pattern of “hyper-partisan” left-wing activism over the years which they worry will bleed over into her role on the Fed Board, which is supposed to be non-partisan and independent.

On Friday, Fox News host Tucker Carlson did a segment on the issues with Cook:

TUCKER: "A recent investigation by @dailycaller @realchrisbrunet found that Biden's Fed Nominee, Lisa Cook, has inflated her resume to bolster her credentials. She has no experience of monetary policy." pic.twitter.com/zn9gESCg0f

— Daily Caller (@DailyCaller) February 5, 2022

Sen. Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and Sen. Tom Cotton have been two of the more vocal opponents of Cook’s confirmation, citing wokeness and an unhinged nature, two things that definitely aren’t needed on the Federal Reserve:

The Federal Reserve is supposed to safeguard the American dollar, not enforce a radical agenda the far left can’t get through Congress. But President Biden’s nominee for the number two spot wants our central bank to act like a ‘woke’ super-legislature where citizens get no say.

— Leader McConnell (@LeaderMcConnell) February 3, 2022

Lisa Cook, Biden's nominee to lead the Federal Reserve, thinks opposing mask mandates means you "literally trying to [commit] murder."

This is who Biden thinks can get inflation under control?

If you think inflation is bad now, imagine someone this unhinged leading the Fed. https://t.co/b74mfFLrTF

— Tom Cotton (@TomCottonAR) February 3, 2022

Tennessee Sen. Bill Hagerty questioned Cook last week on her “mischaracterizing” of her academic record. Cook claimed it was nothing more than a baseless “anonymous” campaign:

ICYMI: Here’s a snippet from this week’s Federal Reserve Board nomination hearing.

Republican Senator Hagerty suggests Lisa Cook (the first Black woman nominated) “mischaracterized” her qualifications. https://t.co/6AlT1ZUjx0 pic.twitter.com/QtLkMTE2ae

— Jessica Ashley Floyd (@JessAFloyd) February 4, 2022

Oddly, before last week’s hearing got underway, Cook did this:

Cook is set to testify before the Banking Committee tomorrow for her Fed board confirmation hearing… https://t.co/YDaP9wky6U

— Zachary Halaschak (@zhalaschak) February 2, 2022

Naturally, the race card got thrown into the mix by Democrats including Sen. Elizabeth Warren during the hearing:

Second favourite part: @SenWarren condemning any attack on the nominees as “racist, sexist and just plain dumb.”@PatricePinkFile claps back saying “Lisa Cook would push the Fed to pursue a divisive, unproven racial justice agenda that prioritizes equity — not equality”

— Christopher Brunet (@realChrisBrunet) February 3, 2022

Same tactics, different nominee: Attacks on nomination of first Black woman to Federal Reserve following same offensive GOP playbook for SCOTUS nominee. Lisa Cook is extraordinarily qualified but GOP’s attacking her credentials & record. This is a pattern. https://t.co/ik6CKoSgIj

— Leslie Proll (@LeslieProll) February 4, 2022

Biden’s Federal Reserve nominee Lisa Cook is facing a racist smear campaign https://t.co/Xlu9HNgbqy

— Amanda Terkel (@aterkel) January 28, 2022

Pres. Biden didn't publicly pledge to nominate the 1st Black woman ever to the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve, he just did it. Racists attacked Dr. Lisa Cook's qualifications anyway. So stop pretending not making a #SCOTUS pledge would've changed the reaction. https://t.co/rCQlPVpc8h

— Reecie @BlackWomenViews (@ReecieColbert) February 3, 2022

Keep in mind that as the “racism” accusations fly, Republicans have expressed much fewer reservations over fellow nominee Philip Jefferson, who is also black.

As if Cook’s “hyper-partisan” activism wasn’t troubling enough, she also recently received the endorsement of New York Times columnist/”economist” Paul Krugman:

Times rules don't allow me to sign letters. But I believe that Lisa Cook would be a fine addition to the FRB. https://t.co/IfAvTQcdMJ

— Paul Krugman (@paulkrugman) February 5, 2022

The fact that her scholarship is mostly about inequality rather than monetary policy is better than OK — we want some intellectual diversity in central banking. And she did some important work on banking overseas too 3/

— Paul Krugman (@paulkrugman) February 5, 2022

Considering Krugman’s notorious history of getting things wrong, as far as I’m concerned his seal of approval alone is enough to disqualify Cook from serving on the board. Just saying.
