Ted Lieu (born 1969 in Taiwan) is a member of the United States House of Representatives and House Judiciary Committee from California. Lieu is an anti-constitutionalist and outspoken opponent of free speech.[1] Bre Payton of The Federalist wrote,
| "Lieu’s comments fall in line with the Democratic Party’s platform, which explicitly calls for overturning the First Amendment to enable lawmakers to regulate who can say what about politicians."[2] |
Two weeks later Payton was dead at the age of 26 of "mysterious causes". Lieu works closely with the Progressive Democrats of America and some Democratic Socialists of America members. Lieu has close ties to the leftist Council on American Islamic Relations and works closely with China Committee of 100.[3]
During the sham impeachment of President Trump, Lieu defended Hunter Biden receiving $50,000 a month kickbacks in the Biden-Burisma scandal, half of which was paid to Hunter's father, Joe Biden.[4]
Views
Lieu, a leftist, supports unrestricted abortion, gun control, and was a sponsor of the communist Medicare for All bill.[5]
False statements

In one of his anti-Trump sentiments, Lieu erroneously claimed that Richard Nixon was impeached.[6]
Bigotry
Covington Catholic smear
Lieu participated in the egregious smear against the Covington Catholic kids.[7] He also falsely professes to be a true Christian, as he cites the charity of Jesus Christ to attempt justifying the welfare state.[8]
Racism
In 2019 Lieu attempted to smear commentator Candace Owens as a white supremacist in a televised Congressional hearing; Owens famously exposed Lieu, in the most watched C-SPAN video of all time, as a Democrat leader who "thinks Black people are stupid."[9]
