This could get really messy
This exploding scandal about the Clinton Foundation, the Russians, and US uranium is far bigger than Hillary Clinton.
Mark Levin pointed out on his show last night that this doesn’t stop at Clinton’s feet.
This tangled web ensnares Obama just as surely as it does Hillary.
Now, maybe somebody else has addressed this side of the issue, but I haven’t heard it anywhere except from Levin.
The irony is, Clinton’s spokesman Brian Fallon made this very point when he defended Hillary (hat tip Business Insider):
In a statement to The Times, Clinton spokesman Brian Fallon said the State Department was only one of multiple US government bodies that approved the transaction.
Multiple US government bodies, specifically other members of the Obama Cabinet, had to sign off on this deal to give controlling interest to 20% of US uranium deposits to Russia.
Now, it doesn’t get Hillary off the hook.
But it does appear to ensnare Obama just as much as the greedy, money-grubbing Clintons.
Again from the Business Insider:
The US Committee on Foreign Investment, which includes the attorney general, the secretaries of the Treasury, Defense, Homeland Security, Commerce and Energy, and the secretary of state, were charged with reviewing the deal that would give Rosatom [the Russian energy company] a majority stake because uranium is “considered a strategic asset with implications for national security,” according to The Times.
Levin was quick to point out that means the Obama Administration as a whole had to sign off on this deal. That means Obama had to know that the US was relinquishing control of our uranium to our enemy Russia.
Is Mark Levin correct that the reason the New York Times landed on this story was to try and direct all blowback at Hillary Clinton while shielding Obama?
It’s a valid question.
Look at it reasonably.
Why would the Enslaved Press, who always shield the Democrats, willingly cover this story so completely?
It’s reasonable to think that by controlling the story, they can prevent it from splashing up onto Obama. By focusing the scandal on the Clinton Foundation, they take the pressure off of the Obama Administration.
Levin is right. It wasn’t just the State Department and Hillary Clinton who signed off on this. The secretaries of Treasury, Defense, Homeland Security, Commerce, Energy and the Attorney General were also involved.
Now, I wouldn’t put it past the Clintons to try and tie this scandal around Obama’s neck. They will do anything to protect themselves. Why else would Clinton’s spokesman toss out as a defense that other cabinet members were involved?
After more than 20 years of dealing with the Clintons, all of us over the age of forty know what to expect. They’re like cockroaches. They’re survivors, these two.
If it will protect her from harm and preserve her presidential aspirations, Hillary will not hesitate to throw Obama under the bus.
I’m telling you. This could get really messy.
